A decade ago, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education was not a major focus in PNG’s education system.
However, recognizing its significance for national development, the government has since established key Schools of Excellence to promote STEM learning
and integrate STEM curriculum in selected and established schools of excellence around the country.
